we wanted to give him a little birthday morning surprise of balloons and chocolate sprinkled donuts with chocolate milk. he woke up in his happy self and ran into the balloons. we let him open one of his presents and loved snapping them into the circles. he even gave me a silly smile. i love that boy.

and he loved his birthday morning chocolate sprinkled donuts. still can't get over the two candles.

it's the most wonderful time of the year

On Christmas Eve, we made some cookies for santa. Noah is such a good little helper. he loves to watch and help (or attempt to grab)  with whatever you are making. he wanted to eat the dough but settled for a cookie. he walked over carefully to the fireplace and set down the bowl for Santa. I wanted to start a yearly tradition of making a birthday cake for Jesus but I didn’t have all the ingredients and I didn’t dare to venture out to the grocery store on Christmas eve. but we’ll just start that next year when noah understands a bit more about Christmas. And hopefully a little about why we celebrate… Jesus. And next year for the Advent tradition. I need to get to work on that come October so I don’t get sidetracked like I always do.

Noah woke up around 8:00 on Christmas morning and I was so excited for him. we let him open a few presents and he quickly learned what a present is. and he was a pro at unwrapping the gifts. We let him open one of his favorite things… Cars. he is obsessed with ‘caas’ he recognizes the logo on anything and gets so excited. he thought the lighting mcqueen car that talked was the coolest thing ever. we also let him open the cars 2 dvd and he danced around with it. and got so excited when we put it in to play. We then made some cinnamon rolls and he quickly devoured 2. I won’t say how many I had.

We had a relaxing morning and had family over at 3:00 (naptime is key in our house) even though he had a nap, he was very cranky. Now we now why.. he was coming down with the stomach flu and showed up a few days later. which was not fun, by the way.

noah entertaining everyone

noah wouldn’t eat any of the dinner we made. I think he had some puffs and maybe a roll. not much. that’s the story of my life. mealtime is a battle. and mommy and daddy usually never win. but anyways..

getting into the gifts...

he got cash for his savings, anything Cars related, tag junior reading system and books, a cool melissa and doug toy with tons of latches (the kid loves to play with latches), tons of random toys, Lion King (my favorite Disney movie) he isn’t interested in it as we watched the first few minutes, I realized it is kind of creepy and scary (may have to put that one on hold or fast forward through the beginning), reading flashcards, a ride on worm for our long hallway, he got a pretty cool train table. and man, I have never seen him play with anything like he does this. whew! it can give mommy a few minutes while I get dinner made. but only a few.

didn't take too many pictures of him opening gifts but here are a few...

and our AMAZING gift by my awesome dad. he made the coolest thing ever. a mason light fixture. we love it so much!

and the most important thing of all... HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS.

party time.

we headed out to celebrate manny's second birthday at gymboree. last year the two of them went there for an afternoon. click here, man they have gotten so big. noah loved it. his favorite thing to do was play basketball. he would find the basketball on the other side of the room and run back to slam dunk it. he loved all of the tunnels and obstacles. and the bubbles! they have the best bubbles. they float forever it seems. we had such a fun time playing. and to end it all, noah got cake. or frosting was more like it. he has such a tooth for anything not good for him. sigh. and more birthday cake is in his future for sure!

the polar express.

we went on the polar express. we were both so excited to take him. we had to wait. a long time. noah didn't like that. he let that be known. to us and to those around ;) after the long wait, hey, it was coming from the north pole, he got a little better. when we boarded, they had fake snow and he kept opening up his mouth trying to eat the snowflakes. man, i hope it snows this year. he got better once the train started up. then he got a bit fussy. thank goodness i found his paci in my pocket. santa came by (fast i tell you, thus the no picture) and gave all the kiddos a bell. noah loved playing (and swinging which led to hitting) with it. but overall, he had a good time on the polar express.

it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

helping decorate the tree. we were a bit afraid of putting it up. he is into everything and imagined destruction. in fact, it was the opposite. he will run up and hug the tree and carefully take the ornaments off and try to put them back on.

and looking at Christmas lights. despite his face, he was excited to get out and look at them.

park fun

we headed up to our park for a little fun. noah had a great time. he knows when we go outside, we have to leave our hats on. the cold front was blowing in so we didn't stay long but while we were there, he kept saying, 'brr'. he loved chasing daddy and loved playing with the soccer net. we came back home where he was treated to chocolate milk. we don't let him have that much at all but it was a special treat. he's picky enough as it is, we don't want him protesting his normal milk. but i bet that is coming in time.
