noah and his little outside friend.

i am two. staring cookie monster.

Cookies!

we decided to not do a party for his little friends. too much trouble and stressing. we figured we have one more year of not having one. he doesn’t know but next year, he may ask for one. trying not to think that far.

Lately, noah is loving cookie monster. For a few months now, we watch ‘the cookie touch’ sesame street episode what seems to be almost everyday. he doesn’t laugh. he laughs uncontrollably. laughs like daddy is ticking him or mommy giving him his ‘pinchy’. that is one of my favorite things.

with all that, we had a cookie monster celebration. cookies. cake. cupcakes. worms for oscar. goldfish for elmo. jelly beans for abbey. cookies for cookie monster. and more cookies for our little cookie monster.

noah, mommy and daddy LOVE you so, so, so, so much. we love seeing you grow everyday and love being with you. you will always be our little baby. always forever.

a trip down memory lane.

every time we go to the zoo, we really try to take a picture on the turtle! we've done pretty well at taking it and only missed a few times last year.

we love our trips to the zoo!

monkeying around.

it was 70 degrees in january. a trip to the zoo was in order. it was so much fun. i love our three day weekends together. this was the best time too. noah enjoyed it SO much. we let him run free for the most part. he was really enjoying his freedom. he did so well. honestly i think he enjoyed running freely for hours more than anything.

our favorite part was feeding the birds. they flocked to us and two even landed on his hand. he didn’t seem bothered at all. i was afraid he would grab a tail or do something destructive but he was so gentle. we bought him a couple of sticks and he would run up and stand on his toes trying to reach a bird. he thought it was the coolest thing!

he is officially a boy! here is his first scraped knee. and yes, i stopped and took a picture. this was the better one. he still has a little scar.

bye bye paci.

on january 3rd, all of noah’s pacifiers went on to the paci fairy. or to wherever all of the paci’s go. I thought he was too young to understand the ‘paci fairy’ so just went with another route. noah was pretty attached to his for sleeping. he never really wanted it unless he was sick. we had been prolonging it but decided it needed to go. I think it is as hard on mommy as well.

I stopped on the way home and found some awesome sesame street medals. when I got to mamaw and papaws house, we cut a paci and told him it was broken. he looked at it, got confused and spit it out. when we got home, we did the normal nightly routine and after his bath, I gave him the ‘broken’ paci and told him it was broken. he didn’t seem to care. he knew I was up to something. so when it was time (or honestly about an hour after his normal bedtime of 8:15 because I was prolonging it) we read, we prayed and we rocked in his chair. but before I put him in his crib he kept looking in my mouth to see if I was hiding it. he usually did that at night because it was funny to see mommy with the paci. but this time I put him down and.. not a peep. was it that easy?? ……

+++

no. the next day, he struggled at naptime at mamaw and papaws. he was sad and missed his paci. he barely napped that day. the next few nights have been a little rougher. he runs to where we used to keep them before we go into his room. And he will take advantage of mommy and cry/scream for me to come back which I usually cave in and chill with him for another 30 minutes. but hopefully in the next week or so, he/mommy will get better.

let’s hope so.

and here is the first picture with noah and his first paci…

the first day of 2012.

we all started out 2012 with a bang. donuts. our favorite. we had a wonderful Christmas break with this little guy. 13 days of no work. all noah = pure bliss. we spent our last day just the three of us. we had a great day. i have a feeling this will be a very good year.
