boo at the zoo

first off, i think this is the cutest picuture i have EVER seen. biased, nah ;) he was the cutest little ghostbuster ever. after i put this on him i thought i should have chosen this instead and made him a little proton pack and made daddy be slimer but maybe next year.. but he may be opinionated.. he meaning noah, not daddy :)

we headed out for our second annual boo at the zoo on sunday. click to see last year's boo.
the weather was chilly at first but turned out perfect. noah was so excited to get in his wagon and knew where he was. he started clapping as we were in the parking lot.

he was pretty hungry although he actually had a big breakfast (mealtime is a struggle) and snacked the whole time. when he looked at the fish, he had to hold his goldfish, not one individually, the entire bag. i have learned to choose my battles. he did great in the wagon but when you get him out, you can't really expect him to go back in. he just loves his independence. he ran around like a crazy in the MOLA exhibit. he even petted a snake with daddy (i didn't even want to get near that one).

one of his favorite things was.. of course, not the animals. but the old school pay phone (last time i saw one of these was back in 1998. ha) where you could hear animal sounds.

and he went FISHING for the first time. daddy was so incredibly proud. he caught two little fishies. he got to choose a prize and he chose some sheriff badges. fun for dress up a few months down the road.

he did pretty good (excluding the little fits) at boo at the zoo. he did at one point attempt to climb a stair onto the stage.. mommy picked him up and he did not seem to like that too much. but on top of everything else, there was a huge snake up there. no thanks.

can't wait until next year :)

treat or treat.. or as noah says it.. tickoteet

i love halloween. one of my favorites. it is also ms. suki's birthday. she is five today. my, how we love this sweet dog. for three years before we were blessed with noah, we celebrated her birthday. yes, we were one of those people. but we love her, and love celebrating. and it's a great excuse to make cupcakes. this year, noah put all the paper liners in the cupcake pan. he was so excited to.

last year, he was our little tiger. today, he was the cutest little construction worker. ever. it would have helped if would have kept his hat on. oh well. he was still the cutest.

g and gran showed up in an elmo and a cookie monster shirt! he was so thrilled to see two of his favorite characters. he got some loot from nana, pap, and grandma which consisted of a bulldozer, some pj's, stickers, sippy cup, and some chocolate. we missed you mamaw and papaw!

overall, he did wonderful. we cruised a few houses, most of which he tried to eat the candy in the wrapper. he loves suckers. to the point of obsession. he probably tried to eat 10. mom only let him have one. sorry n. he did eat 2 reeses peanut butter cups (can you blame him). he did great when we got him out of the wagon but didn't like going back in.

then we came home, and he helped me pass out the candy. he was very squirmy in the chair out front so we came inside. he loveeeed to pass out the candy standing up. we thought he would be scared with the crowds and scary costume but he had the biggest cheese face and when they left, would keep signing 'more'. he even said trick or treat a few times {tickoteet}his favorite part was a cute little elmo and cookie monster. he screamed in delight. then daddy came home with pizza, he snacked a little. then settled down for his sprinkle ball cupcake. he was thrilled. then he took a bath, put his spooky pj's on and jammed out on grandma's walker with pap dancing to bubble guppies.

until next year.

afternoon with momma

as part of noah's halloween costume, i needed suspenders. i thought they would be pretty easy to find - boy was i wrong. i no joke called about 35 stores from nordstroms to thrift town to mens wearhouse. finally, i ended up finding them at a store in southlake town center. so we went. noah played around in the square near the fountain but was sad to see there was no water. he kept saying 'uh oh'. after running around, i made him go into anthropologie where i looked at everything thinking in no way can i afford a $185 top. or if i could, no way i would buy a $185 top. we walked out with a couple of Christmas presents (i may have bought myself one), and a baby book i couldn't turn down for him. i know, majorly lacking on that area. but this is my real scrapbook for him.

then after i attempted to get him in his car seat after 10 attempts or so (the two's are RIGHT around the corner) we headed back home. we cut through because traffic was bad and i decided to go down on the street where we took family pics last year. our spot was still there and i had to get him out to play around. we tried to get him a cupcake but it was closed. sigh. but, they had a little carnival that was just getting going so we headed over there. they had a petting zoo where at first he was excited.. but then found the most entertainment playing with the latch. he did point at the chicken and do 'circles' around and around the pig but that was about it. he is sooo interest in how things work. he loves to put caps on, mess with latches, doors, handles, etc. we grabbed a pumpkin and left. it was a fun day. temper tantrums and all :}

park with daddy

while i was getting ready for the day, daddy wanted to take noah to one of his favorite parks we always pass on our way home from mamaw and papaw's.. he gets so excited when we get on that street and does his stretched out 'giraffe' neck so he can see it before we get over the hill. then, when we pass, he will say 'paark' and then do a little pout if we don't stop. hehe. too cute.

i made him take the camera which he still hasnt gotten used to. but i'm all for capturing the little things.. because, these are the big things.

apples, chickens, and gar-gars

we headed out yesterday morning to an apple orchard just a few miles up the road. we thought there was a pumpkin patch and was kinda bummed but nevertheless, we had a good time. noah loved running (when does he not) and loved picking out apples off the tree. he LOVES apples. these were the perfect noah size and fit perfectly in his little hand. they had chickens out back and little garden paths with butterflies, flowers, and cool little walkways. for the past month or so, noah loves saying garden. but the way he says it is the cutest thing ever. he calls them 'gar-gars'. too cute. we bought some awesome homeade apple pies and apple cakes. noah loved his apple so much, he ate it all in the car.

day with noah.

i am going to make it a monthly tradition.. to take off and spend all day with noah. just us. other than the fact i suffered an.awful. allergy attack and was popping benadryls, it was a good day. we slept in. ate donuts. went to the park. played chase. ate mummy hot dogs. watched airplanes. watched a bubble guppies episode with moshi on the couch snacking. took a three hour nap. thank goodness. the benadryl was kicking in. woke up. sneezed about 100 times. went for ice cream. and then went grocery shopping. i love days like this. allergies and all. until next month.

can you dig it?

tonight we went to isaac's second birthday. i met isaac's mom, bethany, a few years back before we even knew the path of adoption God would lead us to. and God knew we both needed each other in our lives. she is a dear, sweet friend. you can read about their incredible story of isaac's homecoming here. it is a story of God's faithfulness. it is a must read.

this was the cutest birthday party we have been to.. they worked so hard
and built a huge rock box and had real construction signs (dave works construction).
it was awesome. they did such a good job. all the kids were having a blast.

noah with his little construction hat she made.

the cone sippy cup bethany made ... he loved it!
and loved his first taste of fruit punch.. kept
saying, 'mmmm' and would steal others sippys :o
