big boy bed!

on december 27, 2012 noah officially got his BIG BOY bed. he helped daddy put it together. we have dreaded this day because we thought it would be the end of naps knowing your um, active self. you were so so excited and that's all you talked about all day. 

your FIRST night!!!!! you did so well. we read some books and you got your flashlight. of course, momma had to snuggle with you for a while which is fine by me :) 

you are officially a big boy! and i love you so!

we had a white christmas! that hasn't happened in forever. we had such a good time playing in the snow! it was freezing (around 20 degrees) so we stayed out under 10 minutes but had such a blast! right before we opened presents we ran out fast to take some pics of the snow coming down. so glad we got some good ones. snow here is very rare and i know you will love looking back on this.

it was so neat to see you in the snow and experience this first of playing in it. i love seeing things in your eyes. everything is magical and exciting to you.

and the last time you went out in the snow (for like 1 minute for a fast ‘hey it snowed in texas picture’, you were about a month old… my how tiny you were!

Christmas is here! how did it get here so fast and leave so soon? while santa was leaving your presents under the tree since you were such a good boy, rudolph and buddy the elf painted our noses while we were sleeping! you were so excited and loved it so you left it on most of the day! even daddy did too. hehe.

this was the best Christmas so far. and a rainy one at that. later we got a big surprise (SNOW!!!!) you were SOOOO excited and ready to open up your presents from santa. you ran to the tree and were saying, ‘more presents from santa, open it, open it!’ your big gift this year was a big BUZZ LIGHTYEAR. you love buzz and were soooo happy to open him and hear this one actually talk and play sounds unlike your other action figures. hopefully you won’t get mad and throw him down and break him. fingers crossed you don’t. you were so cute when you opened your presents.. you would say, "it's, it's. it's a _____" so stinking cute.

santa got you some neat stuf: buzz lightyear, lego duplos, star wars action figures, an uno farm game for our family game night when you get a bit older, a mickey mouse plate, buzz flashlight, && veggie tales dvd.

twas the night before christmas.

 

twas the night before christmas. we headed to church for the christmas eve service. then we started our baking! daddy made the two chocolate pecan pies and we made the cookies for santa. and most importantly, we started a tradition of making Jesus a birthday cake! you were so excited for that and would sing happy birthday to jesus. He is the reason we celebrate Christmas so we wanted to so you the importance of it. you were happy to "bake for baby Jesus"

you played your version of jingle bells on the piano and sang as much as you knew. then you headed out to school for your last day of the year!

 

i picked you up and told you we were going somewhere that was a surprise.. you always close your eyes .. but always seem to peek. we kicked off our break with tcby and you brought your new friend from uncle jordan.

 

 

 

 

after dinner, we made our advent activity... frosted sugar cones. you really liked it. you decorated so carefully and then went to town when i told you it was okay to eat.

 

 

 

then we took a nice warm extra bubbly bath

 

and we snuggled and watched your new favorite, a charlie brown christmas. and had a special little treat in bed.

and finished with our Jesus story book Bible :)
